I figured it was about time I did the first post. I may not be on track right now, but I haven't given up yet. The past two weeks have been trying for me in the food department. Not to mention a few other things. Not to make excuses, but it has been easier for me to not keep track of my intake while dealing with the other stuff.
I am trying to regain my focus, however. I was doing great yesterday, until we had a meeting and one of the corporate people thought it would be great to bring in a giant box of giant cookies. Ugh! Oatmeal and raisin must have a lot of fiber...right?
Anywho...today is a new day and next week is a new weigh in. I am so there!
I would like to know how everyone else is doing, though. So?

I am up a pound this week. I realized I had some high-sodium meals so I know how to get back on track this week. To counteract the high-salt foods, I did make a stew using all no-salt veggies and it was delicious. I'm seriously trying to be very conscious of sodium.
I have to do the same...and I haven't really been watching the salt at all the last couple of weeks.
Share the recipe Trixie!
I haven't been weighing myself, but I haven't forgotten this site or my desire to lose weight. Actually I suspect I've lost a fair amount on the 1,200 calories that the doctor has me on because my pants keep wanting to fall off, but I just haven't weighed myself. I'm glad both of you are still fighting the good fight and inspiring me to do better!
Yay, tech on the pants. That's a good sign.
Water can help with the sodium thing. Drinking enough, without going overboard, can help get rid of excess sodium. I've noticed that if I drink less than my usual 8 glasses, I tend to retain fluid more.

The stew is really easy, no real recipe. Just get some lean stew meat, brown it, put in a crock pot. Add salt-free veggies: corn, peas, diced tomatos. Cube a couple of small potatoes. Add low-sodium beef broth and let it cook until the meat is done. I really like the no-salt veggies and don't miss the salt at all.
I've also been doing the same with Tech's "Many Can Soup." My friends love it as much as I do.
I did the same with Tech's soup. I just used 1/2lb ground 7% sirloin, healthy choice minestrone and lower salt versions of the rest. It was y.u.m.m.y. and oh so satisfying. (only 4 points for a 1 1/2 cup serving)
